Summary
“The Baby Prisoner in the Winter Castle” follows young Clarisse, the last remaining member of a fallen royal family. After her country is defeated, Clarisse, a nine-year-old illegitimate princess, faces imminent execution but is spared due to a law protecting minors. Her life is entrusted to Duke Maximilian Sheridan, who shelters her in a desolate winter castle in the northern lands. As she grows under the Duke’s care, she battles the dread of an approaching deadline—her eighteenth birthday—when the law’s protection will expire. Despite the grim circumstances, her innocence and the familial bond that forms with her captors begin to reshape her fate, even as powers begin to awaken within her, offering new hope against her supposed destiny.
